National campaign against cancer” to involve remote herders


The National Cancer Centre of Mongolia has launched the annual “National campaign against cancer” for the fourth time since 2011.

Organizers of the campaign including the Minister of Health, N.Udval, the Director of the Mongolian National Broadcaster, D.Enkhtuya, the Director of Mongolian National Radio L.Tseren-Ochir, the Director of the National Cancer Centre, L.Tumurbaatar, the Chief Executive Officer of Khan Bank Norihiko Kato and medical specialists. Media have also signed a collaboration agreement to comply with the “National campaign against cancer - 2014”. 

The “National campaign against cancer” is scheduled to be launched in nine provinces including Uvs, Khovd, Bayan-Ulgii, Darkhan-Uul, Selenge, Dornod, Sukhbaatar, Zavkhan and Govi-Altai in 2014. 

By launching the campaign against cancer in the countryside it aims to increase awareness of the dangers of cancer and promote the importance of early detection and prevention by providing educational materials and information and helping people with high risk of cancer with screenings and follow up treatments. Medical teams will launch the campaign with two courses of medical check-ups and surgery in June and July in the countryside. Each team will stay for six days in an aimag. Medical specialists intend to involve more and more herders in remote area.
